How to Choose the Best Physical Therapy Clinic Near You

There are so many physical therapy clinics to choose from!  With so many options, it may feel overwhelming to pick one, especially the right one!

Here are some tips to help you chose the best physical therapy clinic in your area.

1.  Use Google Search

That may seem like pretty straight forward advice, but there is a little bit more to it.  When you use Google search to find a physical therapy clinic, first, use Google Maps to make sure it is within driving distance, near a bus route, a safe bike ride or walk away from you.  Next, use Google reviews to see what people say about the physical therapy clinic.  Lastly, use the Google Business profile to see photos of the clinic, inside and out, to give you a feel from the environment.

2. Ask around

Everyone knows someone who has been to a physical therapist! Your primary care physician, friends, family, people at the gym, are all great resources.  Ask around to find out who has had experiences, good and bad, with physical therapy clinics in the area.

3.  Make sure they meet your needs

While most physical therapy clinics can treat most anyone for anything, it always helps to ensure that they can relate to your situation. Are you an athlete? Are you pregnant?  Did you just have surgery?  Are you a parent of a child that needs physical therapy?  Look for a clinic that can treat you, whether they specialize in a particular treatment or have a PT on staff with a background that you find relatable.

4. Confirm they accept your insurance

Most physical therapy clinics list their approved insurance providers somewhere on their website.  Alternatively, most insurance providers have an "in network" search that allows you find physical therapists in their approved network.  Contact any physical therapy clinic if you have any questions about whether or not they accept your insurance.

While this is, by no means, an exhaustive list, these steps will give you a good idea of what your options are when it comes to choosing a physical therapy clinic in your area.  If you still have questions, please feel free to contact us.  We are always happy to help!
