What is Sports Performance Training?

According to the National Academy of Sports Medicine, Sports Performance Training is an approach to training that helps athletes achieve their desired performance goals. Utilizing integrated movement that focuses on functional strength and neuromuscular efficiency forces the athlete to work in all three planes of motion versus just one plane, which is commonly seen in traditional strength and conditioning programs.

The Integrated Sports Performance Program here at Physical & Sports Rehab consists of flexibility, cardiorespiratory, core, balance, plyometric, speed, agility, and quickness training.

Performance = Strength + Functional Movement

Assessment and Program

There is a holistic approach to our full body wellness sports performance training programs.

Our sports assessment is similar to that of a hybrid PT assessment.

Subjectively, we will discuss your goals and review your current approach to nutrition.  What do you want to achieve?

Objectively, we will conduct a screening, consisting of the following elements:  strength, balance, quickness, measure muscle length, etc.

Using the information gathered, we will develop a custom program, personalized specifically for you.

The program tracks progress by logging stats on functional movement, run quality, jump quality, and more.

With this all inclusive approach, your strengths and your weaknesses will all improve at the same time.  For example, you will not lose quickness in order to get stronger.

We help empower you!
