Meet the Team
Dr. Paul Heath, PT, MPT, CGMP
Founder and Owner of Physical & Sports Rehab, Inc.
Dr. Heath has specialized in orthopedics and sports medicine for nearly 15 years. He has extensive training in post-graduate orthopedic manual physical therapy; sports medicine; and golf fitness/rehabilitation. Over time, he has developed a large base of knowledge for correcting sports related injuries and providing proper patient education to preventing them. This passion and drive was the catalyst for him to open his own practice in 2011 and to deliver the quality care you would expect from a professional establishment.
Dr. Heath has completed research in the field of traumatic brain injury and rehabilitation. He has presented his research in Venice, Italy at the Annual Neurorehabilitation Conference (2002) and as a result his research was published in the Journal of Neurorehabilitation and Neural Repair (2002). His approach to rehab comes from a neuroscience perspective where the brain is fully employed in the treatment process.
He uses a computerized golf swing analysis with K-Vest software to illustrate the deficiencies of the kinematic sequence compared to PGA and LPGA pros. He also uses a golf assessment protocol to specifically identify abnormalities in body structure and function that can impair the sequencing of the swing. The golf program realigns, adjusts and most importantly educates the golfer on their proper anatomical form. Hint: If you aren't flexible and mobile like Jordan Spieth, don't try to swing like Jordan Spieth. Your training and drills set forth should cater to your body's morphology.
Dr. Heath has done numerous speaking engagements focused on community health, joint pain management, stress management, sports related injuries and prevention, and has engaged with various sports clubs including football, basketball, soccer and track. Prince George's Community College invited him to speak to its Hillman Entrepreneurs cohort about starting and running a successful business.
Dr. Heath is a licensed USSF, VYSA Elite Soccer Coach who has also played at various levels. He is passionate about the sport and offered a Summer soccer camp for kids with international coaches and former professional players.
Dr. Heath is married and has three kids who are active with Maryland United FC, DeMatha Catholic HS, and Anne Arundel Soccer Association. Proudly, his children have used the sports training program at the clinic to qualify for the Junior Olympics in 200m, 400m, long jump and 4x100 relay.
